Engagement with tribal leaders and co-curatorial practices with Native American delegations
This exhibition offers a rare opportunity to explore the history and lives of the Native American nations of the Mississippi Valley in the 18th century, their connections with France, the extraordinary Atlantic crossing undertaken by their leaders, and their meeting with Louis XV, the royal court, and the capital.
For CORA, it is a fitting example of how historic institutions and heritage sites can engage with indigenous histories, connect with Native American and First Nations peoples, and work across institutions to conduct novel research, foster intercultural dialogue, and collaborate between two museums.
